OOCL surpasses $5 billion in revenue in Q3 2022

OOCL’s revenue in the third quarter of 2022 increased 16.9% year-on-year, surpassing $5 billion, but container throughput declined.

COSCO-owned OOCL (Orient Overseas Container Line) announced that its total revenue in the third quarter of 2022 increased by 16.9% year-on-year, surpassing $5 billion.

At the same time, total container liftings and loadable capacity decreased by 3.4% and 1.8%, respectively. The load factor was 1.4% lower than the same period in 2021, while the overall average revenue per TEU increased by 21.1% compared to the third quarter of last year.

For the first nine months of the year ended September 30, 2022, OOCL recorded a growth in total revenue of 43.4%, but total liftings decreased by 6.2% year-on-year. During the same period, the company’s load capacity decreased by 4.9% and the overall load factor was 1.2% lower than the same period in 2021. OOCL’s average revenue per TEU increased by 52.9% compared to the same period last year.
